Last Thursday, Mom brought Abigail and I up to Kansas City with her to spend the week of the 4th with the family. My Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Aaron, Aunt Libby, two cousins- Dewey and Declan, and of course, Dad and Cameron were there. And can you believe what I did? I completely forgot my camera. I could have cried.
|Proof that a visit did, in fact, actually happen.|
We had a great visit with them. Lots of playing, good food, games, and escaping out of the house for hour allottments(my parents house is for sale and showings kept cropping up). We had yummy food at home but also got to enjoy Planet Sub and Stroud’s together. We also got lots and lots of pool time in. Here’s how it went down for Abigail:
Day 1- Say NO to pool and refuse to get in. Simply spray self and all surrounding areas down with freezing cold water from hose.
Day 2- See Dewey swimming and jumping into the water and decide maybe it isn’t so bad. Starts to wade on steps, but still clings tight to hose.
Day 3- Swimming is so awesome!! Rides in float, wants to venture out, and jumps off side of pool into water.
The rest of the time she was cool with the pool and was asking to go out and swim. She’d say “pool!” and point to the water out the window.
On Tuesday, Jim came up to meet us(bringing my camera with him- YAY!) and we went over to spend the 4th with his family. We went to a community pool, that was packed, and then a kid puked so it closed, Abigail took the biggest nap of her life, ate burgers, watched the big people kayak, and left around 830.
|Abigail’s reaction to the pool closing. Just kidding. In reality, this is naptime/lunchtime/don’t take my picture face.|

Wow. We praise God for the 56 men who signed their names to this precious document 236 years ago. What a legacy they left for us.
God bless America.
