Abigail’s big souvenir from vacation was her very first trip to Build A Bear. I have contemplated taking her so many times before this, but we’ve just always done something else instead.
Miss A is a TOTAL stuffed animal girl. Baby dolls and barbies? Meh. Teddy bears, beanie babies, and every animal under the sun? MUST HAVE THEM ALL. Therefore, I knew this would be a total hit, I just wasn’t sure how it would go over. I was a little worried about her being too overwhelmed with so many choices or not enjoying it that much by not getting the concept- neither turned out to be the case.
Allow me to sum up our trip to Build A Bear in one picture:
We had absolutely the most wonderful experience at the Build A Bear in the Destin, FL commons. The employees and the store were just amazing. If you’re ever vacationing nearby, I highly recommend it!
So, before we headed in, Grammy and A had a little pow wow over how things were going to go down. “You will get to choose only one animal and one outfit, etc.”
Then we went inside. Fortunately for us(or Grammy and Pappy I guess) she started at the most expensive end and worked her way down to the cheapest end. She considered this ginormous purple unicorn(I honestly have no idea how she didn’t choose it) and a black and white teddy bear with purple stripes for a long time, but somehow she settled on her brown bunny rabbit. She doesn’t have any other bunnies at home, so it was a perfect selection.
After she made her choice the wonderful employee told her how she was going to stuff her full of love and all sorts of other things Abigail totally ate up. She got to push the foot pump to fill up her bunny and she thought it was the greatest thing ever. She was SO happy!
After the bunny was stuffed, Abigail got to inspect her and see if she was satisfied. Clearly, she was.
Then she was given a cute little heart to put inside. She had Abigail do a little dance and follow some instructions for getting the heart ready to go into her bunny. It was seriously, so, so sweet and cute.
Her bunny is done!
She took Grammy and her rabbit, appropriately named “Bunny” off to be bathed.
Then she selected her outfit. Purple(of course) dress, purple slippers(the only purple shoes in the store), and sunglasses. She also managed to snag an adorable little stroller to push her stuffed babies around in. It’s the perfect size and will last for a really long time.
After she chose the outfit and got Bunny all dressed, she registered her into the computer and then we were all done!
Build A Bear was an absolutely amazing experience for my little stuffed animal lover and I’m so happy we got to do it with her. I enjoyed watching her have so much fun in a way I’d never seen before.
Her response to, “Hey Abigail? What did you think of Build A Bear?” Pretty sure she liked it.
Every single morning for the rest of vacation we were greeted with, “Can we go back to the animal shop today?!” To which we replied, “No.” but I’m thinking, “Maybe for your birthday….:)”
