Five totally random Courtney thoughts- comin right atcha!
Let’s do this thing.
Last Thursday a snow “storm” rolled in and we got ourselves a few good inches of snow. Thanks to our Frosty book, a Christmas episode of Curious George, and my daughter being 3 years old- she immediately wanted to go outside and play in it.
I texted Jim, “Abigail wants to go outside and play in the snow. Do you think you could come home early?”
His response? “Suck it up, buttercup.”
So, suck it up I did. We both layered up, headed outside where we had a grand old time marching in the snow, making snow angels, throwing snowballs, and running and sliding all over the place.
30 minutes later, I lured her back inside with promises of The Little Mermaid and hot chocolate and all was well.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas up in this house! Snow is outside, it’s absolutely freezing, and we’re fully decorated.
I won this awesome deer artwork at my last Pinterest party for being the tallest person in the room(5’7) during a hilarious game we were playing. It’s so fabulous. I heart it.
My friend, Angie, has these like ridiculously mad chalkboard skills. She showed me some of her recent chalk art so I was feeling inspired to make a “pretty” chalkboard of my own.
This is what I ended up with. Not too shabby for a first free handed attempt! I’m seriously hoping I improve with time.
I was feeling like we needed some more ornaments on our tree, so I headed to Target(duh) and grabbed a box of 50 or so more.
Abigail was so excited and eager to help I let her put them all on the tree(shatterproof of course). There are currently about 30 ornaments hanging on the bottom rung of tree branches.
Multiple ornaments on single branches.
I absolutely adore it.
I wouldn’t go so far as to call Abigail “crafty”. I usually have to suggest doing crafts, but she can really get into drawing.
In this picture she said she was drawing “watering cans”. I can actually see what she is talking about!
So, proud mama moment show off, naturally.
More in Mama bragging moments. This little girl has recently taken to getting dressed and undressed ALL by herself.
The other morning I asked her to go use the restroom and when I saw her next she had gone to her room and gotten completely dressed for the day.
In a former tunic now shirt and cable knit tights….and the ladybug helmet.
We weren’t going anywhere that day so I let her rock her own outfit creation and was so proud of her for being such a big girl!
My parents are here!
This little face says it all! My Dad had some business in KC so Mom is spending the rest of the week/weekend with us and Dad will be rejoining us soon. We’re so happy that they are here! (and not just because Jim and I get to go celebrate our anniversary this weekend with free babysitting and see the hobbit and sleep in Saturday and ya know…other fun stuff) We like them a lot and are so glad they’re staying with us!
