But this year? With a mama recovering from months of sickness, a 4 year old girlie readjusting to being home, and a December filled to the max with things to do and places to go, I’m taking a page out of one of my favorite books(The Nesting Place, of course) and channeling my very best “it doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful.”
They’re already rolled out to the perfect thickness for cookie cutting and they’re already lightly floured a bit so your cutters don’t stick. If I could dream up a perfect cookie making scenario with my 4 year old, this would be it.
And just in case you were wondering, the cookie dough tastes good too(allegedly)
We might not have spent a ton of time mixing ingredients in our mixer and tossing powdered sugar and flour all over our kitchen, but we did spend time together. And that’s what most important!
Sometimes, you have a picture perfect plate of cookies. And sometimes, you have a blue frosted, green sprinkled penquin, and a whole host of other interesting cookie characters. And that’s just perfect in it’s own way, isn’t it?
