We’ve been plugging along back into our homeschool routine. It’s great! Abigail is learning a lot and we really are having a great time with it. This week we worked on the letter J and are already excited and ready to start the letter K next week! We usually do school at the kitchen table but recently we’ve been all kinds of crazy and have done some work in the living room too. A change of scenery is good for both of us now and again 🙂
So last week I took my glucose challenge(it sounds like something awesome from The Biggest Loser or something) and was so happy to receive the bottle of orange! With Abigail, I didn’t have a choice in flavor and she handed me a bottle of the “cola” flavored kind. Bleh. I was hoping and praying for anything but that! So when she gave me the orange flavor I was pleased as could be. And maybe I’m a weirdo, or have a serious problem with sugar, but I don’t think it’s so bad. It’s more than I would expect to drink quickly but it doesn’t make me feel terrible and I don’t think it tastes bad. If you have a glucose test coming up soon, take heart! It isn’t as awful as everyone makes it out to be!
While I was busy instagramming my sugar drink instead of chugging it, Abigail got to spend some time at Daddy’s office. They have a cafeteria at his work that has super cheap food so he let her pick out whatever she wanted to eat for breakfast. At a whopping $2.50 later she claims it was the best breakfast ever. ha!
He also taught her how to make a spreadsheet in Excel. She was ALL about that. She typed her name and the alphabet and a bunch of zeros. Nice.
She told me that night that she thought she would go to work with Daddy again the next day and that I could just come pick her up at 5 o’clock when she was done for the day.
Last weekend I finally got my scary roots touched up by my most fabulous stylist ever, Michelle. But, before I headed over to the salon I was able to snag a Starbucks and quiet trip around Target. Talk about glorious! THEN she finished my hair so quickly I still had time to grab lunch and do a little thrifting before I had to head back home. It was basically the greatest Saturday morning ever.
Most mornings I lay out Abigail’s clothes and ask her to get dressed in what I’ve set out. But some days, I’ll just tell her to go pick out a pair of pants and a shirt and get dressed herself. This is what she concocted earlier this week. I must say, while I wanted to tell her NOPE, I instead told her what a a great job she did getting dressed all by herself and she proudly marched her well dressed self into ladies bible study and back out again.
I have to admit, her color matching is pretty on point.
Some of my very favorite bows in all of the land showed up in the mail this week! I just LOVE Sadie Sky Boutique bows. I mean, firstly, HOW gorgeous are they?! Secondly, the clip bows stay in Abigail’s hair like you wouldn’t believe. They don’t budge at all. I love them for her hair. And of course, I can’t wait to get to use the headbands for Miss Mabel. They’ll be so adorable on her highly anticipated bald head.
Plus, I want to mention that I had only ordered the blue headband for Mabes(for now!) and Jess so super sweetly tossed in two more just because she is excited for Mabel. Isn’t that just the most awesome business owner ever?
