I went and had my birthday on September 26th and my oh my was it a big weekend in Joplin. I mean, the whole town went and threw a hot air balloon festival, a bluegrass festival, and a giant semi parade(no, really. Like, semi trucks) all for me.
Well, maybe it wasn’t totally for me, but let’s just pretend it was anyway.
I didn’t have big plans for my day, but it ended up being one of the best birthdays ever!
It all started on Friday the day before my birthday. I was gifted a large amount of delicious cupcakes and the ability to go to my favorite consignment sale with just the baby! Jim took Abigail to the office with him for the morning so I could drink my giant birthday Starbucks, slowly peruse the Rhea Lana sale, and then quietly grab lunch on my way back to pick Abigail up. It was great. Birthday made!
I had had zero plans of getting to go out for my birthday because we have no family close and with Mabel being so little(and having never had a bottle…..) I just figured this wasn’t the year to do it. But Jim arranged everything for Mary Esta to come down and watch the girls after bedtime so we could sneak out for a little bit to celebrate. It was amazing!
Me and my flashing rave like birthday semi parade. #yeehaw
We tried out this new vodka bar downtown and it was a lot of fun. I tried a Moscow Mule for the first time and loved it! The people watching(my faveeeee) was on point. And, of course, getting to get out of the house with just Jim was an awesome way to spend the last few hours of my birthday.
Oh yeah, and as we drove home at like 11:45 I put in one final birthday request.
Large McDonald’s French Fry, heard.
This last year has been the happiest year I’ve ever known. I’m so incredibly blessed and thankful and I am so looking forward to spending another year with the loves that fill my heart and home.
