Long story short, we absolutely loved her dance class! We finished up the week of Thanksgiving, and in lieu of a big recital filled with expensive costumes and lots of makeup, her teacher offered a family night. All of the Daddies and grandparents and others who love and support our little dancers came to watch and they had a regular class so that those who don’t normally come got to see what the class was all about.
They also had a photographer there(bless it) and some yummy treats for once the kids finished!
Abigail was so super excited for family night. She could not wait for Daddy to come watch her dance!! And amazingly enough, for a girl who regularly refuses to even let me brush her hair, asked if I would curl it for her. So I completely jumped at the opportunity!
And isn’t it gorgeous?? That hair….
Miss Brooke was Abigail’s saint of a teacher. Bless HER. Wrangling a group of 4’s and 5’s numbering up to the TEENS is no easy task(understatement of the year). It’s exhausting just watching and listening. I don’t know how she does it! But not only does she do it, she excels at it. Every kid in her class just worships the ground Miss Brooke walks(dances?) on. And even though it’s a bit like herding cats, they still hang on to her every word and do what she instructs. It’s amazing!
And for a little girl who had never taken a class in her life, never sat under any instruction other than mine, or had any dancing ability whatsoever, by the end of the semester she had learned a few routines, how to curtsy, plie, a few ballet positions, and is ready and excited to sign right back up for another semester of dance come this January. Yay!
