This was my very first time ever hosting a Pinterest Party and I was SO excited to get to do it! In our last house, I just never felt like I could. We have no family here, so there was no place for Abigail to go- and her room was right off of our living room and kitchen. But now? We have an upstairs! Hooray!
There were 10 of us at this party, which is a fun number. It made for plenty of food and drinks and a really fun gift exchange!
One of my friends has made this chocolate cake before and it is my FAVORITE. I don’t even like chocolate cake and I love this cake. She’s a saint for making it for me!
I made latte bon bon’s, red velvet puppy chow, and these royal icing cookies. I followed the icing tutorial from Lisa Loves John and it worked great! It was a hot mess in my kitchen, but it was pretty easy to do. I’ll definitely use her recipe again.
And of course, we had punch and a few bottles of wine to choose from as well!
After we spent a good bit of time visiting with each other and eating, we moved on to the next fun part. The gift exchange!
The way we do our gift exchange is we draw numbers. The first person opens a gift and then the second person can either open another gift or steal from the first person. And so on and so forth. We limit how many times a gift can be stolen, but that’s basically the only rule. Everyone leaves with a gift and it is awesome!
This little girl was so tired she could barely keep her eyes open and couldn’t stop rubbing her face. So I put her to bed. Would she have any of that when there was a party going on downstairs? NO SHE WOULD NOT. So, she got to come down and Pinterest Party with us. Clearly, she loved it.
I ended up with this adorable mason jar tissue holder and a brown sugar/coconut oil face scrub. Some of the other gifts were wreaths, bird feeders, painted canvas tote bags, paintings, and wall art.
These parties are always so fun because while the format is the same, they’re never exactly alike! The gifts are always so unique and the food is always changing. It’s a really awesome way to spend a girls night together and I hope that my group of friends continues to keep doing these parties for a long time!
I’m going to go ahead and count my first hosting gig in the new house as a success!
Have you ever been to a Pinterest party before? What was it like?
