On Saturday the girls and I got up bright and early, gussied ourselves up, and hit the road for Kansas City! We were off to celebrate Brecken’s 2nd birthday! (You can see her Baby It’s Cold Outside baby shower and her 1st birthday HERE and HERE!)
I just got Abigail’s skirt and Mabel’s onesie in the mail the day before and they were absolutely perfect for their party outfits! Even though it was a pizza party, Abigail really, really wanted to be fancy. So, okay 🙂
Lest we all freak out about Mabesy girl standing by herself- this lasted about .02 seconds. As you can see, she is already heading back down to sit down.
This year Miss Mabel is a big 8 month old outside baby- and just think, next year Miss Annie(yes! Lauren is pregnant! You can’t even tell right?!) will be almost that same age at Brecken’s 3rd birthday party. Crazy!
There was pizza and soda and cookie cake and balloons and it was just perfect!
We were finished around noon, so I decided to be really crazy and brave and take both girls solo to IKEA for a few things.
It was kind of a bonkers busy mad house, but I had my list and stayed mostly on track and we got everything we needed pretty quickly! And both girls were just absolutely amazing. They hung in there even with a cart full of stuff and a distracted mama as I was trying to get us where we needed to go. They’re troopers!
We didn’t get anything too exciting this visit- I couldn’t have managed to get anything big! Mostly just lots of picture frames, plants, and some curtains.
After we finished at IKEA I fed Mabel one last time and then we made the drive back to Joplin! We were home before dinner and were able to even play outside for a nice long time before the sun set. All in all, a great, great day. Super full and busy! But a great day.
Then on Sunday we had church as usual! I put Mabel into the nursery for only the second time ever and apparently she cried until she passed out- IT WAS AWFUL. I’m still kind of (really) upset over it. In her sleep she was doing that hiccupy post cry breath and I have never, ever seen or heard her do that before. She hardly ever even fusses, let alone full out cries. Blahhhhh. She slept on me like this for a really long time after and she woke up a perfectly happy girl, so Jim basically told me to get over it lol. But, it’s still really bothering me! Mama doesn’t like knowing that her girl was so unhappy.
Anyway, after church and naps at home, we headed over to a friends house for birthday party #2 of the weekend. This was a painting party and so crazy fun for Abigail. Because the weather was gorgeous they played outside a ton and then they got to come inside and paint their very own canvas.
Abigail is crazy meticulous when she draws and paints. She really is super talented and always amazes me with the things that she creates. Seriously!
And lucky for Mabesy, her sweet little baby friend who is only a week older than her was there to keep her company. They played together forever and I mean, HELLO ADORABLE.
Oh and while we were gone all day on Saturday, Jim was a busy, busy little bee here at the house working on all sorts of projects that I can’t wait to share with you- sometime soon!
