Confession Session

  1. Amy Smith says:

I can’t imagine having to shop for a little girl in the swimsuit section! Have you tried Old Navy? Maybe even Amazon? Zulily? Kohl’s? What about Walmart? Good luck!!

I can make doctor & dentist appointments. However, anything house or insurance related is Luke’s job.

  2. Dana says:

Amazon has cutest carters ice cream cone swimsuit for both girls that meets your requirements. Straps are a little thin but the suit is adorable!

  3. Jess Beer says:

Can Jim come clean my sink? I’m seriously terrible about cleaning the bathroom… I just hate it so much.

I wish I could help you on bathing suits….I’ll keep an eye out if I see something though! I usually get Abbie a two-piece rash guard (long sleeves) because she’s so pale!

  4. Laura Keenan says:

I refuse to even call and order a pizza, so businesses?! No thank you!!!

  5. Crystal Hall says:

Hope your little loves are starting to feel better asap! I hope they are able to enjoy Easter weekend. And oh my word…my husband says that about my bathroom sink all the time. Ha! And I loathe making phone calls too. I’d rather clean my bathroom sink. It’s that bad!

  6. Jamie says:

I am SO with you on phone calls! Hate making them. The only people I ever talk to on the phone are my mom and hubby. Although if it’s FaceTime, I’ll happily do it with friends 🙂
I am so not looking forward to shopping for swimsuits when the girls get older. I’m not a prude, but I don’t think little girls swimsuits should be triangle bikinis or one pieces with cutouts. I just looked at Carter’s and they actually have some decent suits for girls, so I’d check that out!

  7. Jacqui says:

I was JUST thinking about the swimsuit thing when i was just in Target! They have this suit (below) and it’s SO cute but I wish it weren’t a halter – not so much because it’s more grown up but because it’s less involvement when she’s putting them on haha, no tying!

BUT I also just saw these and they are pretty darn adorable. I love the americana one! plus baby sizes!

  8. Leslie G. says:

Gymboree or crazy 8! I used to be on Nov moms 🙂 c’s mommy

I’m a sucker for skirts on suits and always get hers there

  9. Nicole Mangum says:

I feel ya with the whole swimsuit thing! I think it is absolutely ridiculous what they are making for CHILDREN these days. I have followed Albion Fit for a while and they have precious little girl swim suits. Good luck!

  10. brittany says:

confessions are just so routinely necessary, yes?! i love and relate!! first, simba was super hot. let’s not forget that it was jonathan taylor thomas’ voice! although i was sad as a kid when i learned that the singing voice was a different guy. also, i am an A-type, but hate HATE bathroom cleaning and even more i hate making said phone calls. so. i feel ya!!

  11. Britt Hanson says:

Ugh the bathroom sink. I totally feel you. Also yes to Simba!! And also Robin Hood. ‘The fox one.

  12. Tiffany Hutto says:

I think we could be best friends. All of these things are me…lol. My sink is deplorable and it drives my husband crazy! My problem is I just get grossed out cleaning it so I don’t. Cleaning the toilet doesn’t bother me but the sink…it makes no sense. Your house is adorable, I saw it on IG but I am a terrible decorator so no help there. As for the bathing suits, my girls are still in the 2t-5t range but we have always used one pieces and it’s surprisingly hard to find. I saw some at Gap.com that caught my eye this year Also I came across SwimZip on IG and while they aren’t one pieces they look cute and modest. I might give them a try this year.

  13. My daughter is size 3T and it wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be to find her a one piece. She just wanted an Arial suit that wasn’t a 2 piece, and what 2 year old wears 2 piece suit, aren’t they supposed to be swimming and stuff? With you on the getting donations. I was supposed to go to a meeting last night..and didn’t because I didn’t find one sponsor like I was supposed to….so I just skipped the meeting (hangs head in shame).

  14. Erin Ressler says:

Hanna Andersson had many cute options that come in both your girls sizes!! They are a bit on the pricier side ($35), but totally cute and worth it! They are having 20% off right now so go look ASAP! Good luck!!

  15. Stephanie says:

I would love to find a suit that allowed me to move and run and bend and you know.. Mom while keeping everything in place.

  16. Whitney says:

I am so confused by the skimpy little girl swim suits I see. I want Olive to be fully covered and refuse to put her in a triangle top biknini #heckno So our very favorite suit options are Ruffle Butts… they come in big and little sizes, are a little pricey but Olive wore hers HARD last summer (beach, pool, all summer long and it still looks BRAND NEW) I ordered a size up and am hoping she can wear it again this summer. Check them out http://www.rufflebutts.com/ruffle-butts/toddler-infant-baby-swimwear.html#page=1&top=456& – there’s coupon for 20% off your first order when you go to their site.

  17. Julie Joy says:

Aww poor sick girls! I’m the same way about house posts! Cold calling businesses is the worst. When I worked I customer service and they made us cold call customer both personal and businesses I would cringe!

  18. Ashley says:

For swimwear–what about RuffleButt?? They’re my favorite I’m just not sure about sizes. I just like the sleeves for Stella since she has such fair skin.

New Girl is my absolute favorite show. Period. I like Modern Family and think it’s funny, but I find New Girl to be hysterical. (Just thought I’d confess that…)

  19. I will never understand people who actually buy the skimpy swimsuit options for little girls out there. It’s just plain creepy. When a 5 year old is wearing a bathing suit that I would wear – we have a problem, folks. Lands End is a little pricey – but they have some cute options like this one: http://www.landsend.com/products/girls-skirted-one-piece/id_283190?sku_0=::99P And I second the Ruffle Butts recommendations. They have some really cute options and they offer smaller sizes for Mabesy too! Vivi is getting a pale pink seersucker Ruffle Butt suit in her Easter basket this year:)

  20. Amanda says:

Um, I totally get it on the swimsuit front! Keep me in mind if you find something! Even the “tankini” styles this year are bare mid-drift it seems. I don’t appreciate the lack of options.

And yes, yes, yes to the sink business! My husband is all, “i was my toothbrush after I brush my teeth and then dry it off” and I’m all “toothpaste splatter all around before I fling my brush to the side and move on”. ha!

  21. Paige says:

    my sink is embarassing too!

  22. Whitney says:

My husband is the same way about the bathroom sink! And yet doesn’t clean it out after he uses it…? Who has time to scrub a sink when two girls are running around climbing everything?! Have you picked a front door color yet???

  23. Leslie says:

I’m with you on calling places – I absolutely hate it. I usually try to make Tim call for takeout orders, but I’m always the one stuck calling the doctor, dentist, dog groomer, etc.

  24. Brittany Rae says:

Oh the swimsuits for kiddos these days. I am not sure what the swimsuit makers are thinking. I know it’s cool to follow fashion but a toddler in a 2 piece. Do they not know there are creeper people out there!?!?
Confession: I hate cleaning. Period. But maybe it’s because I have never had a super real working vacuum of my own. I have a hand me down that doesn’t have a wheel and other issues. I had to use the suction hose on my hands and knees to vacuum. Thank God it’s me and Remmy the non-sheading dog because vacuuming came like once a month. But santa brought me a vacuum so it’s once a week now. Whooo.

  25. Amanda says:

Your confession about the bathroom sink actually makes me feel a lot better. I hate cleaning the bathroom.
