Last week wrapped up Abigail’s second semester of dance class. When you compare semester one to semester two the difference is pretty shocking! I’m super proud of her. She has learned so much in her short time since starting Boogie Brigade and it has been so fun to get to watch.
One of the things I love the most about the program she is in is that they don’t do a big dolled up recital with loads of makeup and expensive costumes. They simply offer a family night for parents and grandparents to come watch and see what the kids have learned during the semester. They run a completely normal class, but they finish with a snack and group pictures at the end.
This time she even got her very out little bouquet of flowers from her teacher, which she thought was so cool!
The girls and I got there a little early and it was beautiful out, so I took the chance to snap a few photos of them before we headed inside.
Mabel’s shoe came off so big sister to the rescue. As always!
Annnnd I’m dead.
They always start out dance class with butterfly stretches and the girls go around and say where they want their butterfly to fly to. And every single class I’m always praying, “Dear Lord Jesus, please don’t let her say anything about toilets or butts or bathrooms.” Fortunately my prayers were answered on Family Night.
After they finish all of their stretching they do a few warm up dances, some walking, review positions, and then they work on their dance routines.
Sometimes they do other fun things too like play with a parachute(holla best day of gym class ever!) or skip around with scarves.
Then once they are done they curtsy out with their teacher.
They manage to fit a lot in for a 30 minute lesson and Abigail really loves it. We are already looking forward to next Fall when it starts back up. And before you know it, Miss Mabel will be starting her own class. Ack!
One extra reason that Abigail was so, so, so crazy excited for Family Night this semester was that Grandma Jenny got to come down and watch. She had never seen her dance class before, so that was really cool. She even spent the night and the girls just love love loved having her here the next day too.
Until next fall(and maybe a small summer camp!) Boogie Brigade!
