November 8, 2016
I kept waffling back and forth on how I wanted to share all of the goodness that came from Miss Abigail’s 6th birthday weekend- but I finally opted to share one post with her birthday party(tomorrow!) and one post with everything else(today!)
The festivities started on Friday, November 4th when alllll of the family started arriving! My parents got to our home before the girls even woke up. It was almost like Christmas morning! (except better, because they came with Starbucks in hand)
Abigail flew down the stairs to greet them and Miss Mabel was so happy to see them too!
Not too long after that my brother and his wife arrived and then before dinner time that evening my Grandparents arrived!
Mabel doesn’t look like it(mostly because I’m convinced she used up all of her smiles in her first year of life) but she was THRILLED to see my Grandpa. She came running right up to him and asked to be picked up. It was kind of the greatest.
After a dinner of cheeseburgers(always with avocado on top for Miss Abigail) and an evening of visiting and showing off her latest Classical Conversations memory work, it was time for bed on birthday eve!
And before you knew it, we had a SIX year old!
I snuck into her room before her light turned green and wished her Happy Birthday and we laid there and talked for a while. It was a super sweet moment and I’m so glad we shared it together. I told her that I thought she looked older and that she had grown over night! And had her feet gotten bigger??? She ate it all up and was positively beaming.
Before breakfast was even ready she was opening presents!
She got one of the big gifts she has been wishing for since last summer and was SO excited!
We headed over to the bounce house around 9am, for a 9:30am party! But you’ll have to wait to read all about that tomorrow 😉
After the party we came back home for an easy deli sandwich lunch and play time with all of her new toys!
Most importantly, her new PURPLE easy bake oven!
Abigail has big dreams of ending up on Chopped Jr. someday, so I’m trying to foster all of that excitement into teaching her how to cook and work in a kitchen! (also, I’m hoping that she always loves it and can take over my dinner duties in a few short years. One can dream, right?)
They made mini chocolate chip cookies for their first recipe and I can’t wait to try more Chef Abigail confections!
This little miss gravitated right to allllll of sister’s new playdoh. She LOVES playdoh. Luckily, she has a kind big sister who shares 🙂
Abigail got to round out her birthday evening with a dark game of jail break(her favorite game!) and then a bag of popcorn while watching tv!
The next day we had Sunday morning church and farewells to family.
But not before we ate at Five Guys!
It was back to reality on Monday and birthday weekend is officially, officially over. But it was fantastic while it lasted. My family spoiled my girl so much and I think she had about the best birthday one could hope for.
Now we’re just busy finding new homes for all of her fun new things, writing thank you notes, and savoring having a big six year old girly in the house 🙂
