This weekend Jim and I snuck away for an evening to Eureka Springs, Arkansas to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary! Neither of us had ever been before, so it was an exciting trip for us. We stayed at the Crescent Hotel and had a marvelous time.
We arrived shortly before dinner time on Friday night, so we got all dressed up, and headed down to their dining room for our anniversary dinner!
I don’t know why the lights ended up looking like this in this picture of us, but I guess it’s kind of cool?
On Saturday morning Jim had booked us a spa package, so we had a couples massage together and then he went back to our room to pack up and check out, etc while I got a manicure and pedicure!
After that we grabbed some lunch and then went to explore Eureka a little bit on a quest for a latte(as one does).
A cold front was moving in(it was FREEZING) and it was drizzling out, so we didn’t walk around much, just to the closest coffee shop to grab some coffee and then back to our car we went!
Eureka Springs was wonderful though! We’re already thinking we’ll have to return for our anniversary trip next year…though maybe we’ll go a little earlier than December to be able to actually enjoy walking around and exploring next time!
We drove home through ice and sleet and returned to a house with a light dusting of snow!
Because of the ice and freezing temps our Sunday church was canceled. So Jim spent the morning taking Abigail outside to sled and play in it instead!
Miss Mabel doesn’t have a snow suit so she had to sit this one out. Maybe next time!
Last year’s snow suit, this year’s body.
Fortunately, she didn’t mind in the slightest.
Oh yeah, she got him GOOD. And as I always say when it comes to snow, better him than me!
Sunday was also Jim’s birthday(talk about a jam packed celebration weekend) so after playing in the snow, eating large amounts of red velvet cake(his favorite!), and lounging in pajamas all day, we changed and went out to Cheddars(his very favorite restaurant) for a birthday dinner.
All in all it was a wonderful weekend and I can’t believe it rolls us right into Christmas week!
