Since we found out that we are expecting our first baby boy a few weeks ago, I have been busily inundating myself into the wide world of baby boy clothes and blankets and bibs and shoes and every fun and sweet little boy thing that I can think of! Before a few weeks ago, I literally have never ONCE purchased baby boy clothes. All of my friends have girls…I only have girls…all of the baby showers I’ve been to recently have been girls…I’ve been in girl land for the last 7 years! So I’m totally experiencing a learning curve over here but I am loving it and throwing myself into it wholeheartedly- because it’s really freaking exciting.
So far, I’ve only been shopping for tiny baby stuff. Nothing bigger than 12m has made it into my cart, so I’ve mostly been dealing with sleepers and onesies at this point. So, I thought I would share some of my recent finds and where I’ve had the most luck so far(in case you are curious!)
I wish I had all of the money in the world to shop small and local and at boutiques and at Instagram shops, but the fact of the matter is, I don’t. Like, not even a little. MAYBE for like, a super special coming home outfit, but that’s about it.
So, the places that have been getting my money are big box stores. Places like Target and Old Navy. Not particularly exciting, BUT, I really had to dig and scour their websites to find what I was wanting and looking for. So maybe I can save you the time and trouble of having to do the same.
Basically, the style that I love for baby boy right now is simple and basic. I love solid colors, muted prints, gender specific, and soft fabrics. (I don’t really care if it is “organic” or not, but I do want him to be in comfy clothes)
The only stores I have had success with IN store are random TJ Maxx stops and one mega clearance rack score at Kohls(I found this sweater there. I DIE. So going on a Christmas card later this year)
The Cat & Jack line at Target is everything right now. Honestly, for boys and girls. I love everything that they have! But I’ve really been excited with their baby boy items. Pretty basic prints, generic colors, great prices. Totally a fan! (along with everyone else)
I found at Old Navy some of my favorite footed pj’s. I grabbed him navy, light blue, and gray- they zip up which is great for quick and easy changes(as opposed to tons of snaps) and I’m so excited to see him in them! I also grabbed a few onesie packs, but I’m most excited about the sleepers!
At Little Unicorn I grabbed this quilt and this changing pad as the start of his nursery plans! I also grabbed this crib sheet and this one too because, oh my gosh, how cute right? I’ve also got my eyes on some swaddles, extra changing pad covers, and maybe some hooded towels. Because the prints and patterns they have are seriously THEE cutest.
I haven’t ordered from Primary or H&M yet, BUT I have things added to my shopping cart already. All of the solid color choices from Primary? I’m in heaven!
For shoes, Sweet N Swag has the cutest little moxfords(Mabel has two pairs and wears them ALL the time. I can’t wait to get some little boy ones!) and Zutano has the most adorable booties– which will be perfect for my fall baby!
I haven’t had a chance to photograph much of my finds yet, (though you’ll be seeing them in use in just a few short months!) but I’ll try to show off some of the things I found in store that I can’t link to on Instagram stories soon, so be sure you’re following me over there!
