Here is a funny story for you: As most of you know, I worked as a hair stylist in an Aveda hair salon for 5 years before becoming a stay at home mama. At one of my yearly reviews with my boss, she criticized me for not encouraging my clients to be more adventurous with their hair(lol) and noted that the majority of my returning clients had long, straight hair.
What can I say- I found my niche.
All of that to say, the curly haired clients? They went to one of the other girls in the salon- who rocked it!
So basically, my curly haired knowledge? Pretty low.
And then there came Mabel. My little curly haired girly! I’m still not totally positive where her curls came from, but, wherever they did, I love them and want to take care of them!
So, naturally, I had to consult my friends on Instagram for their best recommendations for how to take care of curly hair and which curly hair products are their favorites.
They didn’t disappoint! Behold, I give you….
Deva Curl The Kit For All Curlkind / Paul Mitchell Kids Taming Spray / Wet Brush / Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoother / Aveda Be Curly Curl Enhancer / L’oreal Curling Cream / Monat Jr. / Miss Jessie’s Pillow Soft Curls / Curls Blueberry Bliss Curl Control Jelly
I’m currently using the Aveda Be Curly line with her, because I’m familiar with it, trust the ingredients, and it smells good! But after I finish with this, I am going to try one of these other products to see how it does.
To go along with the products, my followers were also sure to share with me some basic curly hair tips!
Brush hair only when it is wet and never when dry!
Only style with water and a wet brush(or your fingers if you can manage it!)
Try only washing with conditioner.
Use detangler to reactivate on days that you don’t wash.
And that’s it!
