Thank you Mardi Gras Napkins for sponsoring this post. Visit your local retailer to get the conversation going in your home!
I absolutely love being a homeschool Mom! But, let’s be honest, it isn’t easy! I’m a stay at home, homeschooling mom with 2 little girls and 1 baby boy– so some days – whew.
I wear so many different hats: homeschooling Mom, maid, cook, exclusive baby feeding machine, small business owner(of not just one, but TWO businesses!) that sometimes life just gets totally crazy! I’m so busy doing things around the house, that genuine conversation about my girl’s thoughts, dreams, and ideas can occasionally be hard to come by.
Some of my very favorite moments as a Mom are those school day lunches when it’s just me and the girls (Finn is napping!), talking about silly things, telling stories, and just being together. That’s where connection takes place and that connection is so very important and one of the (many) reasons why we homeschool!
That’s why I was super excited to get to try out a new product from Mardi Gras – their new Conversation Starter Napkins! They have these super-cool illustrated prints featuring all sorts of clever conversation starters, which are just awesome!
They look like ordinary napkins from the outside, but inside? Well, there is a whole lot of fun! These cool napkins are a serious boredom buster and are going to make school lunches (including homeschooling ones!) across America SO much more fun.
I just love the mix that we got – we had prompts that encouraged us to use our imaginations and steered our conversation into places that it might not otherwise have gone, like, “what are you thankful for today?” to “you won a million dollars, now what?” to “a genie gives you 3 wishes, what are they?”
It was such a great way to connect with my girls, hear their ideas, laugh, and just enjoy being together.
