Sliding in just in time with a brief Thanksgiving 2018 recap, right before Christmas!
This year was a little unconventional because sickness caused us to change our plans. Originally we were supposed to head up to Jim’s parents in Kansas City on Wednesday and celebrate Thanksgiving on Friday night. Unfortunately, his Mom and our nephew were both sick- so we delayed our arrival hoping that we would be able to avoid any of those germs.
So, suddenly at home- without plans and without groceries. Our Thanksgiving looked like, playing at the park, eating frozen pizza, hanging up Christmas lights, working in the yard, and Jim working over at his flip house (yes. it still exists. yes, he’s still working on it. just nothing very exciting to share about it at the moment!)
We ended up going to Kansas City on Friday afternoon and turning around and coming back home Sunday morning because of a blizzard! We didn’t get any snow in our area, but they got tons! So it was great we left when we did.
Anyway, it was a great visit as always- the girls love playing at Grandmas. They enjoy all of the animals, the trampoline, and all of the other fun outdoor things to do. As well as the fun indoor things too!
The perfect oil to diffuse on Thanksgiving. We are so grateful.
After his nap, I guess he decided he wasn’t quite finished yet, so Finn fell back asleep and let me hold him for a long time. It was such a gift because this never, ever happens. He loves his bed. He loves to snuggle too, but when it is time for sleep- he wants in his bed. He has been this way since day one! So, this was an extra special Thanksgiving treat for me!
We were supposed to celebrate our nieces 2nd birthday while we were up there (and naturally, I forgot her gift back at our house) so we had to make a quick Target run to find her a new gift. We also found matching hats 😛 (they ended up canceling her party because she got sick too)
The only dog in the world who could possibly turn me into a dog person, Dane. The girls love him. He’s old and thee sweetest.
We missed getting to visit with my family and we missed Jim’s sister and her kids as well, but it was a lovely holiday and now we are so looking forward to our Arizona Christmas!
