So! FASTer Way To Fat Loss. Or, FWTFL. What the heck is it? How does it work? How did I find it? Why did I choose it? Just hang tight! I’m going to be answering all of these questions and more in today’s blog post!
Here’s the deal: after my pregnancy with Finn I was at my highest weight ever. I lost all of my baby weight but still just kept hanging out a few pounds above where I typically live. Then, the holidays happened and life happened and I started to notice the scale creeping up a pound or two here and there. Not a *huge* deal, but not what I was wanting.
I knew that I would rather turn the tide and go back where I needed and wanted to be, instead of watching slow, incremental changes, turn into a big problem later.
SO, enter FASTer Way To Fat Loss.
I saw my blog friend Stephanie posting about this program last Fall. I loved how she had the freedom to eat what she wanted, the ease with which it appeared to fit into her routine and life, and, of course, the results that she saw!
So when I saw a new round was starting at the end of March, I decided to hop in. I knew that if I invested the $199 AND had the accountability of a coach to follow up with at the end of every day- that rule follower Courtney would absolutely stick to the program. And I did!
So, what exactly is FASTer Way To Fat Loss? Well, it’s a program that involves intermittent fasting, carb cycling, and tracking your macros. You have a fb group with two coaches for accountability and support for questions and weekly zoom calls to watch and learn from, along with an entire daily workout program!
(spoiler alert- never did a single workout)
((probs not recommended- but such is life lol))
I particularly loved the hierarchy of FWTFL. They want you to focus on nailing your macros and nutrition, then getting proper rest, THEN establishing your exercise program.
I also really loved that it didn’t involve calorie counting, weighing in (in fact, they don’t want you to weigh yourself AT ALL during the program and they don’t encourage a final weigh in either), or a specific diet. (some coaches require gluten free/dairy free, but my coach gave me the freedom to choose whether that would be for me or not.) ((spoiler alert part two: it wasn’t))
As far as what my days looked like, I would break my fast at 12 and stop eating by 8pm. I tracked all of my macros in My Fitness Pal, did all of my grocery shopping at Walmart/Sam’s Club, and after a super rough first day or two (I definitely cried and wanted to quit as I worked my way through a giant learning curve- for me!) it was smooth sailing, easy to stick to, and I absolutely loved it.
I totally plan to continue on with my daily tracking, intermittent fasting, and carb cycling even now that my program is over. It is totally simple to continue with the goals and “lifestyle” of the program and of course, I’m way, way happy with my results from just one, 6 week round!
SO- ready to see those before and afters????
My finishing stats ended up being a total loss of 16 inches and 8 lbs! In 6 weeks? I totally accept.
(I tried to keep these from being too ridiculous and infomercial cheesy lol)
