July 8, 2021
Oh hey! Remember that time last year when I wrote a post (which you can read right here) apologizing for ghosting this blog, shared a bit about what we had been up to, promised to give you more details, and then bounced and didn’t write another post until….this one? A full year later?
Yeah, so that happened.
And I thought life was crazy then- but 2020 was just. getting. started.
In June, we thought things were kind of slowly starting to go back to normal…but nah.
So, let’s see- what else happened between that post and now?
We were on House Hunters! (I promise I actually will write a blog post about that- until then, you can find our episode season 194, episode 2! Fast and furious in Kansas City, lol)
We got pregnant with baby #4 in July and I found out at the beginning of August.
Then, we lost that baby while we were on vacation in Destin at 8 weeks ( I promise I will actually write a blog post about this too)
We decided to move out of our plaza house (Yep, the one that our HH episode had just aired about) after our miscarriage in exchange for a smaller mortgage, acreage, and baby steps towards becoming more self sustaining. 2020 was super weird. (I’ll blog about this too)
So, we sold our house in October. Bought a new one in November. (Did I mention that it is a log cabin? It is.)
Oh yeah, and it was a total fixer upper, needs to be gutted, hoarder level house. So, even though we bought it in November, we didn’t move in until right before Christmas.
Even still, we didn’t have a kitchen when we did LOL. (also will blog about this)
Oh yeah, I found out I was pregnant again at the end of October- like what?? (also will blog about this) So we went through all of these changes during a brutal first trimester- because, sick + pregnant is how I do.
Then we entered 2021- me, pregnant, trying to homeschool both girls, remodel a log cabin, chasing after Finn (who finally potty trained, ditched the paci, and moved to a big boy bed- hollaaaa), building a business (yep! still doing the oils thing!), and trying to maintain my sanity in a topsy turvy world- because woof, it was crazy out there.
Anywho- we live in the country now- I won’t tell you where, but Jim has a commute to work when he used to be able to ride his bike, we planted the world’s largest garden, had to pay a million dollars to get the trees on our property trimmed, had a septic system back up/flood into our basement, and just had a home birth last month.
Yes, a home birth, in our log cabin.
Just call me Ma Spena.
And yeah, I’ll blog about that too.
Be back soon 😉
